I wrote this song as my version of David Bowie’s song, “Eight Line Poem” from the awesome Hunky Dory (1971). I invited John Shultis (drums), Jeff Brydges (guitar) and Reid Miller (trumpet) to play the song live from the Scratch Nasty Shed - the first song I’ve produced since I set up shop in Guelph and the first of a series of songs from local musicians. Greg Bruns filmed it and we used the 5th take. There’s exactly one overdub track - did you notice?
Laura Caldwell carved the album art and we’ve made a very short run of 7” prints that you can find in some hip establishments around town. Maybe you’re holding one right now, and you’re here to download the song. Here are the master files, feel free to download from a google drive folder.
If you want to download .flac files or support the project you can at bandcamp.
